Internet safety tips for your kids

The unbridled use of social media devices could be dangerous for your kids. Be sure to remind them of the do’s and don’ts of sharing information.
1. Keep passwords and personal information like home address, school with the and phone numbers private
Your life is certainly not an open book for the whole world. Teach your kids to be stingy with the personal information they place in social media. Pranksters and other sinister individuals abound in the virtual world.

2. Report anything that makes them uncomfortable
The internet is peopled by creatures of bad intentions. Be wary of them and teach your children to be always on the lookout for improper posts.

3. Ask permission to download only in approved access sites
Without your guidance, children may access sites that are dangerous to their young minds. Be sure that you only limit their access to sites that are appropriate for their homeschool needs.

4. Be wary and selective in sharing messages and posts
Kids must be careful when sharing notes and posts; not to send just to anybody even those listed in their phone book. They may inadvertently share fake or misinformed messages.
